Topher Posted March 22, 2007 Report Share Posted March 22, 2007 The new mintmark is the Canadian Mint's logo. It will be replacing the "P" mintmark on Canadian coins. My understanding is that the original "P" mintmark was to show the world that the Winterpeg facility can produce high quality plated steel coins at a low cost.
