Nice lot of notes there, Naidu - I think that Costa Rican 5 Colones note is a very popular design amongst most people. It was one I had to have too! It's a pretty big note - about 4.25 X 7.0 inches. WOW! this note really tempting, very beautifull in design, historical and very architectural more like ancient notes..i ever saw this notes in ebay...most of the Francs banknotes very beautifull. San_Miguel98 Posted May 3, 2007 Report Share Posted May 3, 2007 that french note is simply awesome. notes like that make me seriously rethink my current policy of modern + uncirculated only. the prices definitely keep me in check! those haitian notes are a great design, aren't they? i was going to mention them in the 'favorite design' thread, but the criteria was to pick out just one note. other nicely designed series i like are taiwan, malta, switzerland, hungary, and scotland's clydesdale bank. also portugal's ships & explorers series, before they made the switch to the euro. and i know my other posts on this topic stated my buying was finished for the nexyt year or so...but i fell victim to an impulse buy. it's not even a real banknote! heheh...this is my last one for sure. no more buying after this! 2005 Disney World $50, special design, #248 out of 500. It's true about the temples there, specially the one and only ANGKOR WAT. Angkor Wat: Angkor Wat (or Angkor Vat) is a temple at Angkor, Cambodia, built for King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city. The largest and best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious centre — first Hindu, dedicated to Vishnu, then Buddhist — since its foundation. The temple is the epitome of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors. Angkor Wat combines two basic plans of Khmer temple architecture: the temple mountain and the later galleried temples. It is designed to represent Mount Meru, home of the gods in Hindu mythology: within a moat and an outer wall 3.6 km (2.2 miles) long are three rectangular galleries, each raised above the next. At the centre of the temple stands a quincunx of towers. Unlike most Angkorian temples, Angkor Wat is oriented to the west; scholars are divided as to the significance of this. As well as for the grandeur and harmony of the architecture, the temple is admired for its extensive bas-reliefs and for the numerous devatas adorning its walls.
