Kill-the-penny bill introduced

Recommended Posts

Kolbe's home state of Arizona is the largest copper producing state in the nation. Copper is the main material of the nickel which would benefit by becoming the lowest denomination of currency in circulation.

Rather than a bill to eliminate the cent, why not a bill to eliminate the constant rampant inflation that is destroying the value of the cent as well as every other unit of our currency every second of every day?

Round everything up to the nearest even number and use $2 bills instead!

No that would make to much cents [sic] and save money. Americans are not known for making sense with money, especially when political interests get involved.

But in the end it will be status quo. What a shame.

Ciao, and Hook 'em Horns,

If anyone happens to see Representative Jim Kolbe out somewhere please throw a penny at his head and tell him to shut his mouth.

I'm sure Virginia would have a fit over that, unless of course they keep Jefferson's face.

<<That's what will kill it.>>

Yep and for no good reason since the actual number of jobs lost at Craine would be very small. Everyone thinks that since the dollar bill represents the bulk of the paper Craine makes for currency that there would be a lot of layoff. No one ever considers the fact that if the dollar bill is dropped the production of twos will skyrocket and take up a lot of the slack.
