Art Posted July 17, 2006 Report Share Posted July 17, 2006 I have mixed feelings when I hear about someone selling a collection like this or when the collector has died. I've seen people sell coins that the collector had worked a lifetime to gather and care for and consider only the money they were getting. It's sad. The collection represents more than cash, at least to me. On the other hand, if collections weren't broken up and sold, the supply of many very nice coins would be seriously limited and that would have a negative effect on current and future collectors.
