Ian Posted June 21, 2006 Report Share Posted June 21, 2006 It's a denarius of the Roman Emperor Antoninus Pius as Augustus (138 -161 AD). The obverse bears his bust and the legend `Antoninus Aug Pius P P' but I suspect that a part of the legend is perhaps missing off flan The reverse shows Vesta standing to the left, holding simpulum and palladium (according to my 1988 edition of Roman Coins and their values). No point in giving you `values' from my book. Best that you do a search on either ebay or wildwinds.com to see what current market values are for that grade.
