  1. I greatly appreciate all the help I have received from coinpeople on my questions about my notes! Here is another: I have a specimen of the United States Foreign Domestic Exchange Company One Dollar Note from September 20, 1837. It is payable in Portland Maine, though the company itself seems to have been based in New York. I had it certified and it came back MS60. In googling on the web for this note, one of the pages seemed to say that Wait had rated this note an R5. The book referred to is probably Maine Obsolete Paper Money & Scrip. If someone can verify the rarity rating I will have a better ide of how valuable this note is. Thanks
