I continue to be disappointed that all these ignore the $2 denomination. That said, there is something to be said for classic greenback look, even the recent changes do not fundamentally alter that character.
well, I think the $1 and $2 should be coins, so an absent note in a proposed redesign isn't, imho, a great omission.

i may start adding before then ... the internship is a bit of a bummer at the moment. not at all relaxing.
-
maybe you can add another name to the list since the project is on hold for a bit?
-
nope. if i had the money i'd make you an offer. i don't love toning either, but this looks pretty awesome.
It's a lustrous blue tone and quite unusually even -- that's the plus side.........the downside, I HATE TONED COINS!!!
SHOULD I DIP IT?
SHOULD I DIP IT?
SHOULD I DIP IT?

this is pretty spectacular ...

i love these designs. we won't, however, seriously depart from the dead white men meme because the us dollar is so widely used as a de facto currency where local currencies are unreliable or otherwise unavailable.

it has been a while. the long and the short of it: after a few unpleasant run-ins with people here i decided to spend less time doing this. i'm nearly done with graduate school (taking a last class now, and need to finish an internship) and sold off most of my coins to pay for it. i still have all the coins that matter.
i still look in from time to time but mostly without logging in.
nice seeing you all ...

These are wonderful. I've heard about them and seen a few but never anything as extensive as this.
they're definitely interesting. they are, of course, supposed to replace coins ... they feel kinda weird as coin replacements.

Part II:
The notes are realy nice, better than the scans.
i think the notes are really attractive ... except for that font. it kills me. they must be stunning in person ...

i used to use the "read all new messages" option all the time but i can't find it now ... is it still there?

got my panama pill at my mailbox today ... i didn't really expect it to be so tiny! very cool, and it raises questions: did people really circulate these? (for those who don't know--this coin really is pill-sized ... smaller than a conventional aspirin).
-
i've thought about this sort of collection ... and it just seems endless ...
-
panama, please ... and thanks!
(i admit to watching this thread daily to see what surprises will turn up next ... a very neat idea for a contest!)

definitely in. the congolese lion is very cool.

All that muscle and yet the size of a blind cobblers thumb
actually, that's pretty typical of classical greek male figures ... large penises were thought to be vulgar. times sure have changed--today we'd think he was just using steroids.

that's an awesome looking note. i've only ever seen these online (or on a book cover) but i'd love to have one someday ...

when i saw this item i thought it'd be an item about the proposed mint at the dalles, oregon ... but i did forget about the manila mint.
-
Considering the continuing shortage of £5 notes, I'm surprised the mint is not pushing coins more.
during my recent trip i only received one five pound note in change ... it was pretty well used and i promptly stuffed it into my pocket and went on my way ... never to be seen again until i was on my return flight. if my limited (two weeks plus) experience is any indication it might be that both the five pound note and coin could go away ...

The central courtyard of the fair remains today in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park as the home of its museums. The Japanese Tea Garden built for the fair (upper left corner of the grounds below the bear's tail) still stands as a park attraction.
in fact, the musems on both side of that courtyard have been (recently) extensively renovated--the new DeYoung has been open for a while and the newly-renovated California Academy of Sciences is on the verge of reopening now . . .
