  2. This is one of the 2 coins I received back after sending it for grading. 3. The reign of King George V may have been short, so has been the released of coins during his era between 1910 - 1936, and the earliest being the 1/4, 1/2, 10 & 20 cents coins in 1916 only. There are some scarce coins during this period, like the 1916 10c & 20c. The rare coins are 1920 5c silver & 50c silver with a dot below the bust, then super rare coins are both the 1925 & 1926 silver dollar and the re-strike proof. Attached is my recent purchase, a raw 1920 50c silver with a cross below the bust which is of the common variety. In my opinion, it's a UNC copy (Hopefully at least MS64). My only concern are hairline scratches on the coin. At close observations it does not seems to have been cleaned or rubbed before. Will have NGC to decide. Straits Settlements Kg George V Denomination : 50 cts Year : 1920 Composition : Silver .500 fine Diameter : 28.5 mm Weight : 8.41 g Mintage : 3,900,051 Mint : Bombay Mint. India Coin Edge : Milled Graded : UNC
  4. Another 2 additions, SS Kg George V 1919 & 1920 1 Dollar Silver. Both coins Raw UNC
  5. A better example of a "Raised B" coin I acquired. Missed a chance for a UNC copy. Mintage : Unknown (Included together the "Incuse B" totaling 15,009,891 pieces) Graded : AU58 - Currently 14 pieces recorded by NGC in this grade
  6. A raw and scarce piece SS Kg George V 20 cts. Will have this graded soon. Straits Settlements King George V Denomination : 20cts Year : 1916B Composition : Silver .600 fine Mintage : 545,230 Grade - AU ~ UNC
  7. This is my latest piece, SS Kg Edward 1904 MS62. The coin does not look very appealing - Luster dark. What is the thought from all of you collectors? Should coins in these conditions be clean or left as you see it? Straits Settlements Kg Edward VII Denomination : 1 Dollar Year : 1904 Composition : Silver .900 fine Mintage : 20,564,664. Graded : MS62. Total population by PCGS at 62 is 9
  8. In modern Malaysia, few coins minted for circulation takes the lime light as being rare and as such highly sort after. There is the 1 Sen 1976 Bronze and the 50 Sen 1967, 1968 and 1969 Milled Edge varieties. I being fortunate, managed to get hold of 2 such coins, the 1967 and 1968 50 Sen Milled Edged varieties whilst missing the 1969 copy. The above series of coins were minted by Royal Mint UK and of 2 varieties, one with Security Edge and the other without Security Edge or Milled Edged. How this came about is still unclear. Illustrations below. Mintage for both the coins are unknown; however in ratio to the Security Edged varieties mintage, the rarest is the 1969 followed by 1968 then 1967. Denomination : 50 Sen Year : 1967 Composition : Copper-Nickel Mintage : Unknown (Security Edged mintage 15,000,000) Graded : MS-65 By NGC Value: USD2,400 MS-65 sold inclusive buyers premium (Collectibles Auction Asia) Oct '14 Not this piece. Denomination : 50 Sen Year : 1968 Composition : Copper-Nickel Mintage : Unknown (Security Edged mintage 12,000,000) Graded : MS-64 By NGC Value: USD7,200 MS-66 sold inclusive buyers premium (Collectibles Auction Asia) April '14 For your information, the 1969 MS-65 copy in a recent auction in Oct '14 closed at a record SD$28,000 without buyer's premium (USD26,000 inclusive buyer's premium) This one is out of arms reach for me. Attached below the live auction for the 1969 Milled Edged coin as recorded on YouTube
  9. One more for my collection. Straits Settlements Kg George V Denomination : 10cts Year : 1927 Composition : Silver .600 fine Mintage : 23,000,000 Graded : Currently 121pcs in record being graded by NGC at MS66
  10. This are my latest error additions to my collection, the 1 Ringgit polymer notes (Prefix errors) Top note is correctly printed, however its prefix has also drop over to the 2nd note below. Following herewith, the 2nd and 3rd note's prefixes differs from the top and bottom whilst sharing one common prefix.
  11. Well, it's been a while since I've added any coins to this post. I've been about picking. While high grade raw coins are getting hard to find, slabbed coins are sky rocketing. Here's one just gotten recently VF+ only. Straits Settlements Queen Victoria Denomination : 50 cts Year : 1888 Composition : Silver .800 fine Mintage : 96,000 Grade - VF+
  12. The piece may be a "Raised B" however as mentioned not desirable. To collect one such coin, one should go for an EF grade.
  13. SS Kg Edward 1903 Raised "B" Silver Dollar, slabbed AU58 by NGC 3258114-074 added. This makes room for me to release off one of my AU53 coin as I up grade my collection. Still on a look out for a MS slab piece. Coin is excellent in BU conditions with high brilliance. If not for the wear off around the ear areas, it will make for a MS grade. Denomination : 1 Dollar Year : 1903 Variety : Raised "B" Composition : Silver .900 fine Mintage : Unknown (Included together the "Incuse B" totaling 15,009,891 pieces) Graded : AU58 - Currently 12 pieces in record graded by NGC at AU58
  14. 2 of my latest add-ons into my collection. Straits Settlements Kg George V Denomination : 50cts Year : 1921 Composition : Silver .500 fine Mintage : 2,579,413 Graded : Currently 16pcs in record being graded by NGC at MS65
  15. Latest addition, a Kg Edward V 1908 1 cent raw specimen. BU condition. Coin shows slight oxidation shades and marks from poor handling otherwise superb. Handling of bronze or copper coins are very crucial. One should not attempt to clean them especially the high grade to UNC coins, it will may only makes it worse.
  16. If it was gold, i'd be richer. Kg George V 1932 1/2 cent bronze.
  17. Latest in hand. Malaysia 9th Series - 1999 Signature by Tan Sri Dato' Seri Ali Abul Hassan - Side placement This was a short running series as thereafter the 10th series was introduced also in the same year, but with the signature in the center. Below however is an error. Condition - Crisp UNC - Double prefix overprint - Prefix error, different numbers (BE2547528 over BE5459235)
  18. A 5 Sen error I found in a bag of the same. Its machine pressed on the Reverse while the Obverse side looks quite normal.
  19. Latest raw piece, SS Kg Edward V 1904 $1 to my collection. Photographing it was rather hard trying to capture its brilliance with my Olympus camera and macro lens.
  20. It's getting hard finding high grade coins, and especially UNC ones. This will do for now. Denomination : 50cts Year : 1903 Variety : Incused "B" Composition : Silver .900 fine Mintage : 193,000 pieces Graded : AU-55. Total graded by NGC - 8 (As of to date)
  21. The latest addition to my collection. A common year but rare in high grade conditions. Straits Settlements Kg George V Denomination : 50cts Year : 1920 Composition : Silver .500 fine Mintage : 3,900,051 Graded : Currently 8pcs in record being graded by NGC at MS65
  22. Recently acquired error note. Note was printed while been folded in the press and with extra paper when unfolded. A reverse printing image can be seen on the obverse side of the note. Will have it slab to preserved. Country : Malaysia Denomination : $100 Series : 7th of the series. This is the last of the "Dollar" denomination before the new denomination in "Ringgit" Year : 1986 ~ 1995 Bank Governor : Tan Sri Dato' Jaffar Bin Hussein Printer : Thomas De La Rue
  23. A delightful coin but graded as AU. Had hope better. Denomination : 1 Dollar Year : 1903 Variety : Incused "B" Composition : Silver .900 fine Mintage : 15,009,891 pieces Graded : AU-55. Total graded by NGC - 13 (As of to date)
