  1. New version for the English version of the Creounity Time Machine has just been released. Full-length link to the Homepage of the project is now: http://apps.creounity.com/time_machine/index.php?go=main.htm&lang=en, and short one is: http://creounity.com/tmconv. The most expected feature is adding images to the systems. Select the tab called "Images of coins" in the system you want to scroll through its images. Both Russian & English versions how make use of the same, unified, easy-to-use interface. Whenever you try to reach the page in English in old version, you'll be automatically redirected to the same system in the new version. Check it all out, I do hope you'll like it! P.S.: If you encounter with a bug or a misbehaviour of the Time Machine, please tell us about this in the current thread.
  2. Chinese page has been updated with 3 new year pics and text info in the bottom. Thank you, gxseries! As far as the golden Kwang Hsu's coin, it's been a pilot coin, ne'er minted in bulk. Well, that's what I've seen in the sources I've found.
  3. Thank you for those images! Gonna have some breakfast now, then I'll add the new year samples.
  4. More than half a year had passed since my last post. A lot of bugs and mistakes are now fixed, and some new chronological systems have been added. Now there are 21 of them, instead of 16 in the beginning. The new system released yesterday is: Chinese empire, machine-struck coins of Chinese provinces. Chinese have been using cyclical calendar to name the years, and inscription for each year consists of the 2 Chinese characters. Here's the link: http://apps.creounity.com/time_machine/en/index.php?go=china.php. You'll see there a table with a number of features. To find a Gregorian year in the table, enter it into a quick search field. If you click on a year-link, you'll see how the characters of the date look like on a real coin. When your mouse pointer is over the cells with the years, appropriate cells with Chinese characters are highlighted. Some browsers, like Internet Explorer and Firefox, fail to support that, so I recommend you to use Google Chrome (Safari and Opera also work well). So, Chinese coin collectors, please try that year defining tool and let me know if something goes wrong. Thank you!
  5. Back to Korea, the most difficult thing in my experience was to find the Unicode sybmols, referring to this or that coin denomination. Fortunately, now everything is prepared in the electronic writing and is queued for php/js programming to the Time Machine.
  6. Yes, that was me . I saw great description of Korean Emperors in your site (the best possible I could find by then), and so one of the 4 systems which will be implemented in the Time Machine in November will be "Korea (1888–1910: decline of the empire)". As for unreal Japanese years of rule - that's one of the high priority bugfixes to be done. I believe it will be fixed this week. This stuff is written on the top of Japanese description page, as follows: "Bug in direct converting: no warning message appears if incorrect year of rule is entered (i.e. if the year is greater than the emperor had really governed). This bug has been ascertained and will soon be fixed.". Thank you all for the appreciations and suggestions!
  7. That's not even funny. I believe you're too prejudiced against the Russian and their computers. My app doesn't contain viruses, doesn't request users for any personal information, doesn't take part in bot attacks. Moreover, it's located not inside my own computer, but on my hoster's server, and they do take care of security things. Time Machine only does what I've posted above: converts dates and provides explanatory texts with illustrations. That's for sure.
  8. Hi! My name is Andrei Tretyakov. I wanna share with you the web application I've created specially for coin collectors. It is called "Time Machine" and available via the following link: http://apps.creounity.com/time_machine/en/. This webapp is a date converter covering 17 chronological systems. It is capable of converting year from any of the calendars provided in the app to the Gregorian calendar, and backwards (from the Gregorian calendar to a system you want). With Time Machine it is very easy to find out the production year of your foreign coins. Along with the converter itself, this app contains pieces of the explanatory texts that could help you understand how does the converter work, as well as learn some facts about chronologies' history and origins. Time Machine is completely freeware for end users, and doesn't contain ads. Originally it's been developed by me for Russian and Russian-speaking collectors, but today, on October 31nd, 2010, I've finished working over the translation, and now it has both English and Russian interface languages, all the converter-related articles are available in these two languages as well. In the nearest future I will add 4 new chronological systems into the Time Machine. Some minor bugs will be fixed. A set of large-size images will be added to each system. Two additional functionalities are under development and I believe they'll be released by the end of 2010. Have a good time with my "Time Machine", and happy converting!
