  1. The 2001 (yes, rather outmoded) Charlton lists the following suggested values for solid serial number 54 series: $1... 400 $2... 450 $5... 500 $10... 550 $20... 600 $50... 700 $100... 800
  2. Neat report - looking forward to seeing that token!
  3. It's nice that you got the 1980 ones and not the later 1990 re-issue; the back of the 1990 isn't nearly as nice even though it's the same design.
  4. 2010D shield cent. First of those I've seen.
  5. The closest things I've come across is stuff for Coca Cola and Barbie, but those were in silver, so it's a lot easier for a collector to pay $50-100 for something like that. (and thus a premium over melt/scrap) But even with a more recognized name (e.g. Coca Cola), I think the the premium would likely be marginal.
  6. Did you mean AV (gold) instead of AR (silver)? Anyways, if it's 1 oz of gold, I highly doubt that any soft drink memorabilia collector would value it more highly than its gold scrap value. Probably a pretty scarce prize from the looks of it.
  7. NZ shilling's one of my commonwealth favourites
  8. So much nice stuff from the teens and earlier...
  9. Whoa - that's definately neat!
  10. 42S wheat in VF. Haven't got a wheatie for a long time...
  11. That's one of the oldest rules in the book - postage stamps cannot be covered by anything. Tape on top of stamps prevents the stamps from being cancelled and thus the possibility of re-use, hence the rule.
  12. Wow, never seen those before - that's the least I can say!
  13. Screw press perhaps? I don't think there were any mints left in Europe that were still hammering by 1800, though I could be wrong.

    Monumental Money

Great thread! I can't think of anything around here, unfortunately.
  15. That 3 kreuzer must be a condition rarity!
  16. Thanks! It came as a suprise to me as well. Some of the rolls I broke had up to 7 US quarters in them (80% SQs), so that really helped. I'm guessing a lot of it's coming from Canadians bringing back their cross-border shopping change and putting it into circulation here.
  17. I agree. I note that the s/n are only six apart!!
