  1. They are both P-14b, I believe: 194309 is Shipov and A. Bilinskiy (or Bilinski) 004995 is Shipov and L. Gavrilov
  2. @Dave - Good for you I hope you find the New Hampshire. I do not have everything catalogued, this is only from 1237 notes. I should go back and do the rest and use proper Classes. Here are some counts (of course excluding Humans): Mammal = 453 Birds = 271 Fish = 64 Reptile = 41 Invertebrate = 56 Amphibian = 7 Mythical = 57

  5. I too am not sure if it is legal to own Cuban currency; however, on the other hand you can own Cuban art .... i got this one for the picture of the cows.
  6. Wonderful note, it was well done. The Dominion Bank used the same beaver on the back of 1925 $50 . The front of the $50 is not as good as the $10, it has horses and a hive.
  7. Nice Rwanda note. Switzerland P-56h 50 Franken 1988
  8. Nice notes. Mexico 100 Nuevos Pesos 1992. it took a few years to get this note, just because people were asking way to much for it.
  9. Fiji 100 Dollars, 2013. A nice bright Yellow.
  10. Take a look at this chart by Owen Linzmayer. It makes grading a bit easier. http://www.owenink.com/banknotes/grading.html
  11. Sri Lanka 1000 Rupees from 1981: Not to be confused with the 1000 Rupees from 1990.
  12. So there are, or was, the National Bank and Commercial Bank which merged the National Commercial Bank, and there is the Royal Bank. How many banks were there in Scotland and did they always produce their own designs?
  13. My IBNS Journal came in the mail today, first thing i did was thumb through and find the article. I was not disappointed, it was a good read.
  14. I do not think this is as impressive as the Commercial Bank, but here is an example of the Royal Bank. Are there better ones?
  15. I just received this 1955 One Pound Commercial Bank of Scotland note. I am trying to figure out the security features if any. I have a 1959 One Pound National Commercial Bank of Scotland that I am also looking for the security features. But i am just not seeing them. Can anyone help identify the security features? Thank you.
  16. Most of the American coin dealers only sell American banknotes. The price gap between “Retail” and “Dealer” prices on America notes is huge. Dealers can get a higher margin because of the bubble in the American banknote market. World notes do not have the same margin. Therefore you may find it hard to locate a dealer that also sells world notes, and if you do they usually sell them at "catalog" price. I rarely buy any notes now from store fronts. In fact I will not sell to a store front either, they buy at such low prices that it is not worth it. You will not break even.
  17. sigh ... someday I will get those Zambian notes someday.
  18. Some of the new 2013 Fiji notes, I will just have to go there to get the rest.
  19. Tom Chao has a list of serial numbers of Known Replicas of Obsolete Notes. http://www.tomchao.com/replicas2.html My eyes are not good, so I cannot tell for certain. I believe your 2 dollar Republic of Texas is a replica. Serial number 5214. And the other may be 2231
  20. Nice notes, someday I will get the 5.000 Lire. Some day.
  21. My collection of banknotes is small, only just over 2000 notes, so it is a little bit easier to manage compared to some of the large collections. I use to work in museums so I store my collection just like I would store artifacts. I use Mylar Sleeves, Archival Containers, and I use Desiccant canisters which I bake every once in a while to refresh. I originally stored my collection In Archival Boxes in a Fireproof Safe. Boxes are compact and you can store a lot of notes in small space. Boxes make it easy to move things around in the collection. The draw back of a box is that it is hard to view the banknotes. Also, over time the corners break unless you get a good metal edged box. After the fire (my collection was ruined in a fireproof safe, another story), I started to store my collection in Binders. Binders make it easier to view the banknotes. But it is harder to shuffle things around and they take more space. I now use: Ultra-pro 3 pocket Mylar sleeves (The2Buds) Metal Case Desiccant Canisters (Archivalmethods) 2-1/2’Binders with Slip cover cases (Archivalmethods)
