  1. I just noticed I never added any of my Mercury dimes. So I'm going to start on them next. I don't have a lot of date/mint mark combinations. But have a lot of duplicates, so I'm just going to try to post 1 of each date/mint mark I do have. When we get moved I need to work on my camera set up. Maybe get a usb camera or at least a camera stand and set up the lighting better. I would like a usb camera and a usb microscope. That way I could have every thing set up and ready to take pictures. Just don't know how well the usb cameras work.
  2. I need to work on my lighting as in new bulbs. Thinking about trying an led bulb. The last group of shots weren't very good. Right now unless I get the lamps almost in the way of shooting they don't turn out well.
  3. Next batch. The older circulated coins are ones passed down to me. A couple like the 1942 and 1939 I already have an example up. But the others I did not have the year or mint. First the proofs. 1961 Proof Roosevelt Dime 1981 S NGC Ultra Cameo PF69 Type 2 Dime Netherlands 25 cent 1950 D franklin half dollar 1952 franklin half dollar 1954 franklin half dollar 1939 Walking liberty half dollar 1942 Walking liberty half dollar 1944 Walking liberty half dollar
  4. Just took photo's of these. 1981 S NGC Ultra Cameo PF69 Type 2 Dime 1961 Proof Roosevelt Dime
  5. VAM 16 III2 5 - C3a (Very Far Date) (181) I-2 R-3 Obverse III2 5 - Date set much further right than normal. Hate saying it, but this is the second one of those proof likes vam 16's I have. Should never go to the coin shop with out my book. And really I need to keep better notes on vams. I even have another vam 16 but not proof like but has a die clash also.
  6. I doubt if I ever will photograph all of the proof and mint sets. I think I only put up a few sets out of those. I do want to go through and at least get the rest of the silver quarters, mercury dimes, and indian heads. I almost thought about swamping omnicoin when Anton started the contest. I never did put those 5 morgans (I ended up giving my nephew the 1889.), 1928 peace dollar, and the rest of the coins I bought in a group from the pawn shop. May try some more in the next few days.
  7. Three more forgotten coins. One of these days I need to go through the rest of my coins. Right now I'm just posting a few items that catch my eye. I've got a lot in what could be called mass storage. 1896 Cent 1866 Italy 10 centesimi 1831 Dime
  8. Well, my mistake to go to the coin shop. Both of these were spur of the moment buys. Mainly just seeing a proof like morgan at a reasonable price. 1884 New Orleans Mint Dollar 1908 Denver Mint Quarter
  9. Well this is fun. 2 more 1882 S and 1904 O Morgan Dollars. Haven't even checked for VAM. Believe it or not these are PCGS green label rattler 63's. A couple I think they graded too high maybe just barely squeak by as 63's.
  10. Up north of Houston by Conroe Texas. We are supposed to be signing sometime after Christmas. Just found another I coin bought as silver awhile back. Complete with finger prints. 1982 Canada Dollar
  11. I'm starting to pack up to move. And found 3 coins I had set aside and forgot about. 1801, 1803 and 1806 Large Cents. In poor condition, but they were cheap plus a group discount. 1801 1803 1806
  12. I tried to photograph a purchase today, but gave up. I volunteered to work at the Houston Gem and Mineralogical Society annual show yesterday and today. (I'm a member.) While there too much shiny stuff. Rocks real shiny rocks. Look at the shiny rocks. Must buy some shiny rocks. Anyways I went ahead and picked up a small parcel of opal, a couple coprolite slabs (fossilized Dinosaur poop ), a trilobite, fossil leaves, fossil shark tooth, and a couple geodes. They main thing I was trying to photograph was the opal but a rough parcel is about impossible to get a good picture of.
  13. Picked up 50$ worth of kennedy halves at the bank today. Got 59 40% silver and one 90% 1964 half. The toning on the 1964 looks a lot better in hand nice peach - red tone.
  14. If you edit the original post to the new location that should fix it. Edit. Never mind just noticed just saw you did not have the obverse.
  15. Got a few items last couple days. 1941 nickel, 1942 cent, and $20 2004 star note.
  16. And a possibility the silver contains 2.5 % gold. 7 million ounces silver at 2.5 % = 175,000 ounces of gold possibly.
  17. There also are coins you can say they were minted xxxx year only even though they don't have a date.
  18. I'm looking at these thinking PCI idol material. These to me would really be tough coins.
  19. Not quite circulation find. Stopped by a bank and picked up $8 worth of half dollars and got a 1969 40% silver half.
  20. My guess would be vf 35's. The hair lines are on the weak side, but there is feathers showing on the eagles breast. Almost a split grade. One thing you don't see on a fake is the mark on the cheek of the 1880 S The 1884 has me puzzled. The marks on and below the eagles tail feathers seem strange. Since the lines on the tail feathers don't appear to be on the branch and that is higher. The same way with the lines in the field when they cross the wreath seem odd. Is it toning or damage? Damage is expected some what on a coin that grade. But because if damage it might drop over all grade some. In other words a low vf. Or be considered details. BTW looks like it might be a doubled large mint S vam. And the 1884 may be a far date. This does not add a premium but check for doubling on the eye. Possibly 1884-P VAM-16 Alligator Eye, Far Date, Doubled 8
  21. A star note dollar and a 1951 D Lincoln cent.
  22. Well not fitting in my plan for the year but I did want a better one. 1934 Texas Half Dollar
