Price looks quite high to me, but I don't know for sure.
It is unusual to see an assembled set like that, though. I've seen a nice 1901 "set" which was assembled from individual proof coins. I can't find if the 1893 came as a set or not. An 1839 set sold within the past year or two (with the "Una and the Lion" gold), in the original case, for something like £30,000 or thereabouts.
That group looks pretty nice !!!

Just rescued it off the old CP Archive. It was originally done by Sylvester.
Well, thanks for the rescue then !!!

How many coins may be submitted per category, per submitter?
I'll start with three in each category I want to enter, if that's okay with you, boss
edit to add: Never mind the question ... I see in the submission threads we can enter as many as we want. Sorry ... should have read those first

I guess in order by quantity, I'd have to say:
Local dealer,
Local coin shows,
Forum members/dealers,
E-bilge.

Wow. Based on the above descriptions, I'd have to say "Generalist" to the extent that I am working on type sets from a few places (US, Victoria UK, George IV UK, Australia, Canada), and UK shillings and florins by type, too. Plus, I have a bunch of coins from a wild beginning of an OFEC collection as well, but those will be re-evaluated shortly to stay more focused (well, I'll try) on all the UK stuff mentioned above.
Okay ... maybe I need a separate category called "Flaky"

Type Type Type ... I just LOVE Type collecting

I'd have to say he pulled 'em right out of his tailpipe
Note the asterisk after the "value" that leads nowhere.

It was last fall ... I was getting tired of outrageous prices for nice US stuff and wanted a change, but I didn't know what I wanted to do. Then I saw some gorgeous pics of Canadian and British coins on another forum, and started into the Darkside. It has been a refreshing change, mainly because of the people who consider themselves "Darksiders" ... they are, in my opinion, a lot nicer and friendlier than thier liteside counterparts, at least on that particular forum.

Never a problem with my name ... Who'd really want it
