  1. Interesting that Durez Plastics and Chemical, Inc. (North Tonawanda, New York) was one of the companies trying alternative materials for cents. They were located a few miles North of me. The location is now a empty , contaminated, field.
  2. The rim on the Liberty side seems to have issues too. Hard to say without seeing it in hand. Could be a filled die error.

  4. A few times a year my daughter will bring me an odd foreign coin found in her register.
  5. Close examination will show a seam where the two coins were fused. The 2 different dates is a dead give away that you have a novelty coin.
  6. Here is what I found. Product Description Canada: 2005 25 Cent Canada Day Coloured Quarter with Beaver Condition: Proof Like Mintage: 57403 Design: The coin showcases a happy beaver wearing a shirt with a red maple on it Packaging: Coin is housed in a colourful, illustrated folder I see it selling online for about $7.50
  7. Post mint damage. Looks like someone started a coin ring.
  8. I'd love to see a picture of your '43 copper cent.
  9. Maybe its the picture but look at the top of the 5. On one it ends at 90 degrees, the other at 45.
  10. So.... get ready for America the Beautiful Quarter program phase II. 2010 was the inaugural year for the 56-coin series, with minted coins released at a rate of 5 per year through 2020. This totals 55, leaving just one for the year 2021. However, a stipulation in the America’s Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008, which authorized the series, gives the Secretary of the Treasury the authority to extend the program past 2030. The decision must be made by 2018 (year 9 of the original program), and would create a second run of the quarter dollars operated in the same fashion as the first. So That would take us into 2032.
  11. The State quarters ran 10 years with 1 year for the territories. The National Parks quarters run 1 issue into 2021. (11.2 years) They would need to find something to fill in the rest of 2021 or return to the origional design.
  12. I would think just from a cost standpoint there are few collectors. I know if I had the money to spend on gold I would invest in classic US coins.
  13. Were you wearing the shoe when you found it?
  14. Just out of curiosity I checked eBay. Graded '64D dimes are about $20 for MS66. There was an MS67 for $59. I suppose if you think your dime were better than those you could take a shot but I totally agree with the replys above.
  15. Nice. I would put it in a snaptight or something.
  16. You need a host for your pics like Photobucket or Flickr. Then put the pics link in your post here.
  17. Need a pic to tell but it could have been plated or stripped of its copper plate.
  18. Got a silver Rosey along with a couple nickels and pennys on Sunday. Last week I got a handful of sticky US and Canadian clad and a big token.
