  1. Thank you very much for your reply. I will try that on one coin only first, and if it works I will try the others. Once again thank you.
  2. Hi Thank you very much for your reply. With regard to rarity they are common coins and they are in used condition. When it comes to the metal I am no expert in the field, but I have checked the coins on Colnect and it states that they are: 1. 70%copper/24.5%zinc and 5.5%nickel 2. 75%copper/25%nickel the others are also copper/nickel but different % than the above. Thanks
  3. Hi I recently came across some coins which were inside a Christmas card but affixed with tape to hold still. When I removed the tape to release the coins, I noticed that one side of the coins where the tape was in contact is still sticky. I was wondering what is the best method to use to remove the stickiness from the coins. These are run of the mill coins, so there is not much value in them. Thank you very much for any feedback.
  4. Thank you for the link. Yes, that is exactly what I am looking for. As you rightly recommended, I will try to buy from a local store first as postage from USA would be quite expensive to Malta. Once again thank you.
  5. Hi Dalek Thank you very much for your message. Well if you like history, I would definitely recommend you would visit Malta one day, as there are a lot of historical places to see. Originally, I am from Valletta, the capital city which has a lot if historical sites to see. Also one good thing about Malta is that since it is a very small island, you get to see most of it as distances from one place to another is relatively short, perhaps a 10-15 minute drive.
  6. Hi Thank you for the update. By any chance do you have any links from where I can see this product and perhaps order some as well. Once again thank you.
  7. Hi I understand that it is getting too expensive to collect them especially since you are from the US. In fact even here in Europe it is not easy to get hold of all the commemorative coins as they are issuing quite a lot. Also with certain countries such as the Vatican it is extremely difficult to obtain the coins unless you purchase them from a dealer.
  8. I am basically looking for A4 plastic pockets which will hold at least 25 coins (or more) per sheet. I tried to search for A4 Saflips on ebay but unfortunately it didn't turn up any results. Thank you.
  9. Thank you very much for your feedback. Do you recommend any particular brands please or perhaps an estimate price per sheet that I should expect to pay for good quality pockets ? Thank you once again for your assistance.
  10. Hi As I have explained in my introductory post, I am fairly new to coin collecting. I have been accumulating coins mainly euro coins for quite some time, and I am now planning to start storing them in plastic pockets. My query in this regard is there any difference as to the quality of the plastic pockets used? I am mainly a stamp collector and when it comes to storage you read a lot about good quality acid free pages. Is there any similar issues with storage accessories for coins? Actually I found some plastic pockets on ebay which are relatively cheap 5 pages (holding 42 coins each) for a little less than $4. Is this price normal for such pockets or shall I look at something of a better quality ? Thank you in advance for your assistance.
  11. Hello everyone, I am mainly a stamp collector from Malta but have recently started a coin collection. I am particularly interested in the euro coins especially the 2 euro commemorative coins. I look forward to meet other collectors on this forum with the same collecting interests. Thank you.
