    Cool AK, I posted a look-alike thread about a year ago using this coin. I forget what which coin was a dead giveaway for Seinfeld's Kramer. Anyway, that's some beautiful plat.
  3. "If distilled water does not work try acetone" Always know whay you're dealing with when acetone enters the picture. Acetone becomes self-igniting when mixed with MANY chemicles.

  12. This occurs when the sheets of metal are not uniformly flattened as they go through the rollers. I've seen many of these on the bay, referred to as piefort cents.

  19. I screwed up and hit the wrong button. Although the Floirn is surpurb, gotta go with the homeland. I IS a wop, and that is similar to some of our (my family's coins, most in a trust) left to us in the 50's by my Grandmother. This was embarrissing coinage for the immigrants, especially durring WWII. It got stashed, for obvious reasons.
  20. Aside from the meager wins on the bay, I always check out the completed items for an up-to-the-date analysis of what's going for what. But, go yahoo, go goog.
  21. Its beautifull, isn't it? Somewhere (I can't find it) still sell these types of bowls, sterling, some vintage w/o coins. Wish I could find the site.
