At 7 years, it appears that the battery will last longer, and will spring a leak later than U.S. zinc cents begin to rot inside and out, so there you are.

I'm going to get me a bunch ot these pronto! And I am not going to wait untill December, 2006 to do so!!

Wow! Mexico on the cutting edge!

In minting the 1944 and 1945 V nickels, and again for the regular 5 cent coins of 1951 throu 1954, the RCM used chromium plating on the steel core. This time, for the steel coins, nickel was selected for the plating and I wonder why nickel rather than chromium, as was done on the earlier coins. Was chromium plating considered again for the new steel coins? Or has it become too expensive? Or too limited a metal?

OK, OK Texas huh! Dang, I live in New York State and close to the Canadian border, so where is my roll of cents? I look and I look and I look, but not a one to be found! How am I ever going to get any?

Enjoy mostly the 'classics' of U.S. coinage; Indians, Buffalos, Mercs, Walkers, etc. But enjoy whatever captures my imagination at the moment, and that might include foreign, especially Canada, perhaps elongated cents, civil war tokens, medals, new sparkling silver proof coins, etc. I love it all!!

Except for the cleaner background on each, don't see much of a difference here. Once out of package, most likely will not be able to tell difference between regulars circs and 'satin' coins.
