  1. Sure! Even though they ranged from 50 to 100 CHF, so it won't be something like 1835 Family Rouble, but I will show them as soon as I get them
  2. I just wanted to know an overall background of creating these coins ... Do we know how much were struck? Were they melted later or the mintage was very low? Why only shostacks and tympfs, no other polish denominations like very popular trojak (3 grossi) or ort (1/4 thaler)? And by the way, can you tell me why these were created?: http://www.m-dv.ru/monety-rossii-1700-1917/kid,7/mid,7/nid,63/types.html http://www.m-dv.ru/monety-rossii-1700-1917/kid,8/mid,7/nid,63/types.html
  3. Hello, Can anyone help me providing any kind of information about this small but very interesting series of coins? The only thing I know is that they were struck for Russian army in Poland (?) with polish coin standard - timf and shostak (6 groszy). http://www.m-dv.ru/monety-rossii-1700-1917/kid,7/mid,12/nid,121/types.html Shostak seems to be much more uncommon than timf. Unfortunately I do not know Russian and the only short info I managed to find was in Russian. Thanks in advance.
  4. Thanks Rarenum, Frankly I don't like that "regular" patina, with the only darker places between letters and small details. Looks like cleaning. When looking on larger pictures I got from the seller it looks much worse than mount removed, it has signs of a repaired hole. One letter is also changed incorrectly (?) - A instead of K. Planned to bid it but now I'm going to pass ...
  5. Hello, What's your opinion on this coin? Genuine? http://allegro.pl/show_item.php?item=4130523596&msg=Tw%C3%B3j+e-mail+zosta%C5%82+wys%C5%82any.&msgtoken=048a25b10f8bf5405c1e387864ffa85323220a1444b540a86acf77d00be2ff62
  6. Thanks, I'm wondering why it got such a high (?) price as for a damaged coin (the seller says he dug it up). It reached over 4.000 dollars.
  7. Pretty nice coin. Which version on m-dv.ru is this? http://allegro.pl/rubel-rosyjski-1718r-srebrny-i4012835473.html
  8. I like the idea of this topic. Take a look at some Russo-Polish rarities from newly opened Czapski Museum in Cracow. I will post more later.
  9. Hey, I am confused by this example of Warsaw Mint issue Rouble. Look at the two lines under the "Rouble" sign. The one on the left side is obviously shorter than the one on the right. I don't see any scratching or any other kind of tooling near that line. I searched the internet but I couldn't find any similar example. Can it be some new die type? Another interesting thing about this coin is that it is probably overdated - look at the last "4".
  10. Thanks for letting us know! Actually the seller is known also on the biggest polish auction platform - allegro.pl, he has very similar or maybe the same nickname. And that person is selling regularly OSTs in mint condition - usually 3 coins per auction (looks like he has pretty a number of it) and he always gets about 100USD for it or more.
  11. I also lack KM one in my collection, I've only got EM version .... But I'll ask my friend if he isn't going to sell one of his examples. Here is my coin:
  12. I don't think that Krause Catalog is a reliable source Mr. Greenhood.
  13. Hello, I bought such kind of coin recently and wondering what's the mintage of it. Previous issues seem to have vary low mintages, but I can't find any information on the 1894 one, which is the most common, but still quite expensive and rare.
  14. Great site, thakns! Here is another nice coin of mine. It is pretty rare in such condition.
  15. Yes, that kind of fakes can be often found on ebay. These are casts. extant4cell, yes! That's exactly the same type of coin that I have! May I know where did you find the pictures?
  16. I bought it from a private seller for few hundred Euros, he said it was in his family for a very long time, lying untouched. Well it looks OK to me, and it was shown to other people who specialize in XVIII century who said it was OK (they also said that technically opened "O" letter isn't anything unusual as all the letters were separately hand made on dies). Here you have URL to an old polish auction house, with 1728 Rouble records: http://wcn.pl/archive?q=1728+rubel There seem to be quite matching obverse sides ("4,5 shoulder straps" and stars above eagle, etc.) and 100% matching for the reverse (the same die: http://wcn.pl/auctions/34/997 ).
  17. Hello, I'm new to the forum, I am from Poland, 26 y.o. I love Polish coins, especially from the period of Russian rule (XIX century) and recently coinage of Russian Tzars. I love the idea of this forum, pretty big space for Russia. Here is one of my latest treasures. This is maybe a quite common example among of Peter II's roubles, but there are two interesting details about this coin. Opened "O" letter, and unusual (?correct me if I'm wrong) three figures above the eagle on Tzar's chest. Please take a look.
  18. Please take a look at these 2 coins. I am suspicious about their authenticity. Especially the 1757 looks fake to me, but I'm much more confused about the 1797 example.
