  1. I weighed it and it was right on for a 1982 to present, 2.5 grams. Wish I had a scale that went to hundreadths. I asked this question on another site as well but figure I could get some feed back here as well. How is the planchet made in the first place? Is it dipped in copper? Electroplated? Zinc sandwhiched between copper? Thanks for answering what seems sort of dumb to ask but my curiosity gets the best of me. shane
  2. Man they dont use a whole lot of copper on these modern cents do they?
  3. I bought a guys coin collection on EBAY recently and this was included. A novelty of some sort I suppose? Shane
  4. "I misplaced the coin.! (probably rolled it already) I will find it & take another look." I would have laughed about this but I recently posted a pic ect. with a 1998 Wide AM. Wouldnt you know it I put it in a giant "bottle" that I put pennies in that I dont want. Took about 2 hrs to go thru every one finding all the 98s and NOT finding it! THEN I thought to look in another spot, a small drawer that I keep other pennies in. And there it was.
  5. Hello All Again, Looking thru all of my coins..........found this one. No number following the 199 I can under magnification make out what appears to be a 7 but it is very faint. There doesnt seem to be wear in other areas on the coin that would indicate the 7 wore off. I suppose some grease or what not was on the die? Any and all comments please. Thanks, Shane
  6. O.k heres a picture.....thanks to someone heres suggestion I used my camera set on macro right up against a coin magnifier and a flash light shining from the side..crude but hehe it seems to work quite well. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=5zne5b6 http://i16.tinypic.com/5zne5b6.jpg
