  1. I would like for someone with more knowledge of imperial Russian coins to look at this ruble. I picked it up this weekend at my coin shop, from a grouping of other Russian coins. It looked good enough to me to risk purchasing it, but I am by far not an expert on Russian Numismatics. I look forward to reading your opinions. Thank you in advance. The coin appears to be a 1727 Ruble of Peter II, first year of issue. The mint mark is not really readable, due to an imperfection in the flan. I do not know if the imperfection is due to strike or pour. 2. I would love to have both of these in my collection, they're fantastic pieces! However, the silver octagon beats the mining token by just a hair.
  3. One of my favourite coins, actually. Haitian 50 Gourdes, 1975, International Year of Women. Honestly, I've never decided if they're wearing gauzy dresses, just their hair, or what.
  4. ElleKitty, 1 real cob piece from Colonial Mexico, issued by King Phillip II of Spain. Coin is rainbow toned and doublestruck on both sides. Date did not transfer onto this cob, but the range is from 1556-1598, Group 3. http://www.omnicoin.com/coins/976731.jpg
  5. ElleKitty, Canada 3 dollar NCLT representing the fur trade, 2006 Group 8 http://www.omnicoin.com/coins/932320.jpg

  8. I'm waiting for 1601. >.> <.<
  9. 1610 Grossus of Prince Gabriel Bathory, Transylvania. Mint NB
  10. I have a 1610. >< In fact, I just bought it today. Hopefully someone will post a 1611 soon so I can show it off!
  11. Another 1622. This is one of my favourite coins; a copper 8 maravedi coin of Spain, restruck to a lower denomination at a later date. Mint NR, Nuevo Reina (Bogota, Colombia.)
  12. 1624 silver coin of Sigismund III.
  13. It's pretty enough to be drool-worthy in the photo.
  14. Bump! It's been a couple weeks... No one has a 1647 to add?
  15. Ah, we've been down this road before, but I never get tired of seeing gorgeous rainbow coins. This is my absolute favourite: Netherlands 1 cent. Rescued from the bargain bin.
  16. Whoohoo! A recent purchase from 1649 let's me jump in again.
  17. Thank you for the translation/identification! I received the coin with it notated as a Netherlands token, but even I figured out that wasn't correct. I wish the photo of it had turned out nicer. It is worn, but it looks a lot nicer in hand than it does in the above scan. And all these beautiful silver and gold coins are making me drool far too much. Gorgeous!
  18. I really have little idea of what this token is: But it's 1667!
  19. 1671, Anyone? Trying to keep this thread moving. I'm enjoying it very much.
  20. 1681, silver 6 Groschen, Duke Frederick William of Prussia. The coin is a bit grainy on the surface, which is why the picture looks grainy as well.
  21. Can't stop here! We've come so far already. And, I've got 1681, 1667, & 1624 that I want to show.
  22. We're still waiting on an 1685 coin, yes?
  23. Alright, just another 1690 coin, but I wanted to post it before we moved into the next decade! James II, in exile, Gunmoney from May.
  24. Oh wow, double posting is pretty easy to do, too! >< Sorry.
  25. Wow, this thread is either really hot, or really not. Someone out there has to have a lovely 1695 they want to show off!
