Ok, so it appears that from this thread early in 2010, http://www.coinpeople.com/index.php?/topic/25935-l2-two-pound-coin-error/ it might have been "manufactured" post-mint. And on closer inspection that might be the case. Shame. Although saying that, any comments?

Hi Guys, New to coin collecting and new to this forum, so apologies if this is in the wrong place etc. I got this coin in my change yesterday, it's a 1999 UK £2, but the nickel disk in the middle is the wrong way around, everything else looks normal. Better resolution on twitpic: http://twitpic.com/bgn090 So the question is, is this a genuine mule? I've heard that mules are very rare, and I've been unable to find any pictures of this kind. Was I just very lucky to get it in my change? Thanks all.
