  1. eastern europe.... Akdrv? Kuhli? Banivechi?
  2. but, I'm expecting loads of coins next week, in several shipments
  3. Dutch coins: pre euro 1 gulden, 2.5 gulden and 5 gulden and now the 2 euro coin carry the incuse edge inscription "GOD * ZIJ * MET * ONS *" which means "God be with us". The 1966 Italy 500 lire coin that I posted in the "coins wth ships" thread in "World and Ancient" has raised edge lettering, It says "REPUBLICA ITALIANA *** 1966 ***" All 2 euro coins have edge lettering in a reeded edge. Some countries only have 2's in it others have more text and only Germany and The Netherlnads have a real motto, if I remember correctly
  4. oh yes, there's a coin for me in it.... $ 0.27 + $ 1.00 S&H
  5. hehe, well in those days they were legal circulating tender, worth about $25 and I would get them at the ATM in crisp UNC as many as I wanted (or my account allowed me ) And unfolded they wouldn't fit in my wallet....
  6. hehe, in the about 36.5 years I've been here in the Netherlands, I used all notes that were issued during my life. And I can't count the number of crisp UNC 50 gulden sunflower notes I've folded Johannes Enschede also makes passports and other high security documents.
  7. While browsing here at CoinPeople, started smelling a weird, burning smell... So I immediately went downstairs, to find that the lights didn't work anymore. Fuse blown. I went to my living room, following the scent and ended up in front of the TV. Tried to swich that on, but the main switch was stuck..... Aparently when I switched it off, last night, it wasn't completely off and electricity was creating sparks inside the swich, heating up the switch and welding it. So I took the TV, opened it (I'm an electrician, by education) and found my assumptin to be true, a burnt switch. Now why on earth wuold I post that here???? When I took the TV off it's place (first time in 7 years) I found a german 20 Mark banknote, just as the one MisterMcDoo posted above Only mine is not UNC. OK, off to replace that switch now.... where's my soldering iron?
  8. Thanks for the offer, Bobby. Can I take a rain check until those shipments have arrived next week and I know what I still need by then? There's no need in having more than I need.
  9. Hmm, I thought each square stood for 10 posts, but you have 3 squares and 43 posts...
  10. OK, now that HTML is enabled, there's a decent table again Several shipments of coins are expected to arrive here next week, to fill up holes
  11. nope, itdoesn't. But if you look on ebay for "Italy 500 Lire" in the coins section, you'l find quite some more, aslo UNC and proof, that look awsome . But those will go for (quite) more than $0.10 .... I bought mine in a little coin shop in Italy, last october. Dude running the shop didn't speak a single word english, french, german, dutch ,spanish and I do't speak a single word of Italian... Oh well, with hands and feet one achieves a lot
  12. Italy, 500 Lire, KM# 98 0.8350 silver, raised edge lettering holds year 1966
  13. Well, a nice red "P" and send that to me

  17. en de patatten met mayonaise
  18. I just ate the very last one a few days ago...
  19. Just for the record: I stepped in the Short Snorter project when it was already on it's way, so I had to find a note light enough to see the writing on and big enough to hold all the signatures in a very short time. I happened to have a 100 gulden note handy, a very very very circulated and folded one. I thought: Oh what the heck, let's use that one. Gives the others the opportunity to see one in real life as well. I didn't put my name on it yet everybody assumed I put it in.....
