Nice collection you have going there. I too am working on obtaining two Seateds that aren't in poor condition. I was very tempted to buy one at a trade show but the reverse was just horrible. Looked like someone took a knife to it.
Does anyone know a site that has pictures of numerous Egyptian coins? I am looking for the more modern ones like 1700-Present. I've seen some really interesting ones on Ebay and they have sparked my interest.
Does anyone here collect these kind of coins? If so, post your collection!
Generalist for sure. If the coin is pleasing to MY eye, I will buy it. Really doesn't matter condition, style, price, etc to me.
Currently I am attempting to pick up some really nice Mercury Dimes.
Not a coin but I'm sure you will enjoy it.
At work I was counting the money and noticed an odd bill. Sure enough, $10 star note! I know it isn't worth much but it has been 6 years since I ran across a star note in circulation. Needless to say I replaced it with a normal $10 bill and it is now mine (boss didn't care).
To me the point in proof coins is to admire the beauty of the coin as it was meant to be. Others see it as an investment.
Kind of like taking the Mona Lisa and having it pass through thousands of people's hands, it won't have the same detail or beauty it had right after it was painted.
