  1. nothing exciting lately. I did have a few free hours after a meeting in DC last week and I bought a uncut sheet of 4 new US (coloured) design $10s

I picked up some nice Croatian (Hrvatska) notes in change in Pula and Dubrovnik that I have saved and cataloged this month.

Thats about it. Boring few months for me.

    Ciao,

    AWACS

  2. Received two of the DUTCH 2 Euro 2007 Europa 50 *specials* in change last night in Maastricht (or very early this morning depending on your point of view). These were my second special 07s after the German one a few weeks ago.

    Ciao, and Hook 'em Horns,

Capt-AWACS, Who needs a hug kids

  3. while joggin the German/Dutch border trail here, near myhouse, I found a 1977 Deutsch 10 Pfennig. Once I wiped the dirt it wasn't half bad. I think it got kicked out by some farmers or something.

    Ciao, and Hook 'em Horns,

Capt-AWACS, Europe-we have no easy button

  4. Cool, I tipped one or two near the Galleria mainly at some Greek places where my friend belly-dances on Tues/Fri night. Usually when I spend them folks keep them or take them out of the cash drawer at once.

I can get them for about $1.15 a piece at a place in Oklahoma so it is worth the 15cent markup to see the looks on peoples faces. Europeans love them.

Funny thing is I never want to spend wheat cents but love spending Ikes. :ninja:

  5. This was an odd one for the US, but I got a 1 cent euro today...which is smaller than a US cent, but still circulated a bit here. I'm not sure of the country....has a theatre mask on the back or something...maybe france?

    Yes that is France.

    Ciao, and Hook 'em Horns,

Capt-AWACS, Dutch RVs and German Autobahns don't mix

  6. I s#!t you not, I just got $8USD worth of 64-69 JFK Halves in change, from a cash drawer at a Viet Pho noodle place in Houston. I paid in cash and when the drawer opened I saw a whole till area full of halves and said I would take some in change. Turns out they were all Silver!!!! :ninja:

What a great day. I used to get some now and then when I worked in a grocery store during my undergrad college years, but 16 coins is my biggest circ find yet.

    Ciao, and Hook 'em Horns,

Capt-AWACS, Watching you from 30,000 feet (for the government...)
