  1. www.worldmoneyshop.com The results of wwcc are realeased. if anyone need info on any specific lot, which lot?
  2. Thank you, Bob. Yes, Hess-Divo has multination ownership, including Japan.
  3. Bobh, is the relatsioship known between Hess-Divo and Chaponniere? I do know him. He used to work for Alain Baron and then went on his own. Is he now part of Hess-Divo?
  4. It is a fake. The identifying mark is the line on the reverse through the tail that ends under the orb.
  5. I think Baron is just used by Sincona for marketing. There is a good discussion on the Russian forum regarding the collection: http://www.staraya-m...m11/topic26452/ Evidence points toward Leonid Sodermann, sinse all the top lots shown by Sicona most likely did not sell in the 1968 Hess Leu auction.
  6. Looks like you came in second
  7. Hoping that no one notices is no longer possible. Too many knowledgeable collectors. Just put in your max and hope for the best. I actually had this coin type in the past, but this one is nicer. At the auction like Kunker it would probably fetch double.
  8. Rare coin. Looks decent. I was bidding. Close, but not quite.
  9. NGC is now really paranoid about grading Russian coins. And it is getting worse. It is becoming tiresome for the community to be getting questinable, unverifiable, no decission, not genuine grades on perfectly good coins. NGC just does not want the liability. Yet they gladly take the money for writing silly labels. Sorry, I do not know what to suggest.
  10. The coin appears to be genuine. I think I see SPB mint mark below the bust.
  11. Now I am speachless. I wonder where I could get the money. All I need is a few million (more or less) to buy those 2 coins. BTW, that eagle on 1740, is it St. Pete or Moscow?
  12. Yes, coin comes from a reputable seller, nuimismatist and auctioneer. My guess - since the auction started at 1 Euro, no faul play here. The rest was left up to the buyers. Someone had $100 to burn...
  13. I am still trying to understand why I had to get up at 4 a.m. to do the impossible. Next time there is such high profile auction I will just submitt my bids and let fate take its course.
  14. I am curious why so much great material in one auction. Certainly serving the consignor is not the primary objective here. This material (Sincona 2) could fill 3 auctions and bring better prices that way.
  15. Yes, the same. But never mind. I realized that they did not sell at Heritage - did not reach reserve.
  16. This coin and a few more from the same dealer were in January's Heritage auction. On Ebay this one sold yesterday for much less than on Heritage. Interesting.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160612198514&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
  17. I received a letter from UBS today stating that they are out of numismatics as of April 30th. For their own numismatic needs they will be using Sioncona AG. The first auction by Sincona will be from June 29th to July 1. Next two catalogs will be mailed to the existing UBS clients. Inquiries to info@sincona.com +41 (0) 44 215 10 90
  18. I think it was a giveaway. And if the condition was half a grade better - sky would be the limit.
  19. I actually like it. I was just very surprised to see 1703 poltina on Ebay.
  20. What do you Guys think about this one - http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5574633083&toolid=10001&campid=5335826004&customid=&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg&icep_item=200600352414
  21. Looks like that dark(white) stuff in the area of the date was used to cover the work.
  22. And those Novodels do look good.
