The breadth of non-U.S. items is a challenge and some areas are very under-researched and under-collected.

That does not mean that one should avoid these areas or that they are not worth collecting. On the contrary, they are very fascinating areas that are often inexpensive to enter and very rewarding and challenging to pursue. I, myself, collect World Coin proof and mint sets from my birth year and find that a very diverse and interesting collection. As do many collectors, I also own some ancients, tokens, medals and other exonumia.

Providing a way to gather values for all of these types of items is beyond the scope of this website, or any website, but I will attempt to provide limited assistance.

1. World Coins:
In general this refers to non-U.S. coins. The standard reference for these types of items is the Standard Catalog of World Coins. This is a 4 volume reference set with each volume covering a century from 1600 to present. It covers types and prices.
Grading is similar to standards to U.S. grading but seems to be more strict.

Links to some information and values for World Coins:

EBay World Coin Category

Values for Coins of the UK

2. Ancients:
Ancient coins are another varied group of coins. The most commonly collected seem to be Roman and Greek.

Links to some information and values for Ancient Coins:

EBay Ancient Coin Category

3. Tokens, Medals and other Exonumia:
Tokens are usually unofficial items generally used in place of money or for advertising. Common examples would be "Good For" tokens, Civil War Tokens, Hard Times tokens, even arcade game tokens.
Medals are typically coin-like objects that are not meant to pass as money but usually are made in tribute to someone or something.
Exonumia is a broad category of non-official coin like or related item and includes tokens, medals, silver rounds and bars, elongates, and many other items.

Links to some information and values for Tokens, Medals and other Exonumia:

EBay Exonumia Category

Exonumia.com

Ken Potter's Variety Vault

Beyond these basic sites, you can always post What's It Worth? questions on this site. Many of us have a Standard Catalogue of World Coins and will be happy to identify look up the occasional coin.
