tabbs
In 2009 Germany will issue two commemorative €2 coins, six €10 silver collector coins, and one €100 gold collector coin. In 2010 the number of issues will apparently a little lower. The planned themes are: 2009 commemorative coins - legal tender in the currency union €2 "German States: Saarland" http://www.bbr.bund.de/DE/WettbewerbeAussc...rty=default.jpg (The reverse will show the current map.) €2 "10th Anniversary of the Euro Introduction" (common issue of all euro area member states) http://ec.europa.eu/economy_finance/images/image11296.jpg (see http://www.coinpeople.com/index.php?showtopic=18273 ) 2009 collector coins - regional issues, legal tender in the issuing member state only €10 silver - 100 yrs International Aviation Exhibition (ILA) €10 silver - 600 yrs University of Leipzig €10 silver - 400th anniv. of Johannes Kepler's "Astronomia Nova" €10 silver - IAAF World Athletics Championship Berlin €10 silver - 100th anniv. of the birth of Marion Gräfin Dönhoff (journalist and publisher) €10 silver - 100 yrs German Youth Hostel Association (DJH) €100 gold - World Cultural Heritage: Trier (Roman monuments, Cathedral) 2010 commemorative coins - legal tender in the currency union €2 "German States: Bremen" 2010 collector coins - regional issues, legal tender in the issuing member state only €10 silver - 300 yrs porcelain production in Germany €10 silver - 200th anniv. of the birth of Robert Schumann (composer) €10 silver - 20 yrs unified Germany €10 silver - 100th anniv. of the birth of Konrad Zuse (computer pioneer) €10 silver - 175 yrs railways in Germany €100 gold - World Cultural Heritage: Würzburg (Residenz Castle and Gardens) The themes are subject to change as usual. In my opinion it is kind of strange to plan that far ahead. But at least we do not have to expect an abundance of different issues ...
