Circus
Here are some that I found, on all 100.00 bills. I have wondered about them and have seen the ones that have a location in the states on them to see how much the bills are circulated in a community. Never thought that it would be a sub collecting area! Will have to pay more attention and take photo's in the future.
Jeyed
I work at a casino and handle tons of American $100 bills every day. I cannot tell you how many bills pass through our hands that have some kind of stamp on them! Sometimes we even receive upwards of ten in a row with the same mark on a similar area on the back of the bill. This conversation had been sating my curiosity!! Benjamin Ikuta
Hi! I'm new here, and this is my first post. I hope it's okay to reply to an old thread? I found this thread on reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisthisthing/wiki/fat#wiki_chop_marks Anyway, I found a chop mark on my money. Where can I learn more about chop marks? https://justteejay.wordpress.com/2010/05/11/stamps-and-marks-on-money/

RTD1
This is my first topic and I recently found this $50 with some interesting markings on it!
RTD1
However this Hawaii $5 National is my ultimate favorite. I have had the Kanji character translated as a pawnbroker but that may also have counted as a currency trader of its time.
Serendipity
Marking coins in some way by merchants in order to validate their authenticity is a very old practice and can even be found on ancient Greek coins.
Jakiescash
Found this one today. Was curious about the markings and my google image search brought me here.

Phillip
I have collected over 100 bills with chopmarks on them. Mostly 50s and 100s but also a few 20s.

I never seem to see a whole stamp though, it's always cut off like it is in the photo.
