Tiffibunny Posted June 22, 2005 Report Share Posted June 22, 2005 German silver Weight: 16.54 Diam: 35.0 ordinary Rim: incised Mintage: 50000 In circulation since May 14, 2004 The coins are dedicated to the Whitsunday, one of the greatest Orthodox holy days, which is celebrated on the 50th day after the Easter (green holy days). On the coin obverse, there is a depiction of a charm garland made of flowers, in the middle of which there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine and above it - 2004, the coin mintage year. To the left and to the right there are conventionalized rye spikelets, poppy-heads and cornflowers. Beneath the garland there are inscriptions: УКРАЇНА, 10, ГРИВЕНЬ, Ag 925, designation of metal and its pure weight - on the silver coin and УКРАЇНА, 5 ГРИВЕНЬ - on the German silver coin. On both coins there is the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine. On the coin reverse there is a group of girls is depicted beautified with flowers, ribbons and garlands, among whom a girl, embellished as a "poplar-tree" is a central figure. At the top and above the group there is a symbolic depiction of the Holy Trinity, on both sides of which there is an inscription: СВЯТО ТРІЙЦІ. Artist: Mykola Kotchubey. Sculptor: Roman Chaikovskiy.
