Serendipity Posted April 19, 2020 Report Share Posted April 19, 2020 Marcus Aurelius is often seen as the last of the truly great Roman emperors from 161-180 CE before the empire declined. One factor in the decline may be the Antonine Plague, a mysterious epidemic that the army brought back from West Asia which ravaged the empire from roughly 165-190 CE.
