coing33k
Hello, I figured I would post here to see if anyone can shed some light on this medal that I acquired a few years ago. I have tried searching online and in any French exonumia book that I can find, but to no success. The medal itself is massive: 110mm in diameter. It is made of copper. The engraver is A. Bureau and it was made in 1875 to commemorate the 83rd Anniversary of the lifting of the Siege of Lille. On the edge of the medal is a bee and the word CUIVRE. thedeadpoint
Welcome to Coinpeople! I don't have any information on it, but I think it is a gorgeous medal. I think it's odd how they reversed the order of the dates.
