Can i request RCM to make a commorative coin and how?

Recommended Posts

I grew up in Lighthouse Cove, Ontario. It's located at the mouth of the Thames river where it flows into lake St. Clair. This is a large navigable river that extends through and beyond the cities of Chatham and London, Ontario.

Next year, 2018, the current stone lighthouse will be 200 years old. There was a wooden lighthouse before that but i can't find any information on when it was built.

Is there a way to request the RCM make a coin to commemorate this historic structure?

Thanks for sharing about your local landmark. Very cool.

I personally don't know how to solicit the RCM to make a commemorative coin. I'd start with the local media, a local coin club, and local politicians!

You can contact them directly, but contacting your MP and making an effort that route would likely help.
