coinsweeper
Hi folks, im aidy, new to the site, just wondered if anyone had the krause catalougue 1901-2001 40th edition? the thing is i dont have the actual book, i have the pdf files on a disk, which i aquired, and i can't seem to find Panama on there, either in the index or next to Papua new Guinea where it should be, also just been looking for Southern Rhodesia george vi coins but they're not there either, only elizibeth II. Can anyone confirm that those coins should be there, think maybe i have a dodgy copy or somethng but its supposed to be a copy of the book itself! aidy

coinsweeper
I have these in my book ok, so what's the difference between 40 and 41st edition, do they keep on adding more coins each time they release a new one even though the book is of old coin releases from 1901-2001? DreamFLight911
I have the book. I don't think they add more coin to it. I compared the page numbers from each edition and they stayed the same at 2500 pages for each book. So stuff gets added or goes missing

ikaros
I'm less than pleased with Krause guides. My edition of 'Unusual World Coins' is riddled with typos and misplaced or mislabeled images, and fails to include several fantasy issues I own; my World Coins 1901-2000 (10th edition -- I only use it for planning and plotting, not pricing) does a little better along those lines, but has its own strange set of editorial quirks and peccadillos. I genuinely find Numista more help for research anymore.
pelxy2
Is anyone aware of any asw or agw irregularities in the 2015 1901-2000 42nd edtion?I have a 2013 guide and the gold and silver weights are different. For example the 2013 guide has a agw for a 1908 French 20 Franc as .1867 but the 2015 has it as .1855.Canadian silver is also lower in the new guide. Comment from Amazon: "This edition of the Standard Catalog of World Coins has an acknowledged error by the publisher for actual silver and gold weights of coins. Unless you want to compute your own ASW and AGW I do not recommend purchasing this particular edition. If you already own this edition you may want to request a refund." This is already causing problems, I recently tried to sell a Dutch and a French gold coins and the dealer wanted to use the weights from the new guide.
