Malang
Hi, I was given this coin by a relative who was ploughing the fields in Swat Pakistan. Below is an article from Wikipedia about the area where he found the coin. Can someone please help me in identifying this coin. It would be interesting to know about it. As I am a chemist, I've already identified that it is 97.36% copper + 1.17% Iron using XRF analysis. I'd appreciate any input on identifying the coin. Thank You Swat has been inhabited for over two thousand years. The first occupants created well-planned towns. In 327 BC, Alexander the Great fought his way to Udegram and Barikot and stormed their battlements. In Greek accounts, these towns have been identified as Ora and Bazira, respectively. Around the 2nd century BC, the area was occupied by Buddhists, who were attracted by the peace and serenity of the land. There are many remains that testify to their skills as sculptors and architects.

Malang
Your thoughts? Is that an elephant on one side and a bird on the other?
Drusus
It looks like an Indian princely state, of which one its hard to tell...
wabnoles
I don't think its Sri Lanka... Sri Lanka is an island in the Indian Ocean. It could be Indian as Drusus said, which would make sense since Pakistanis are ethnically Indian.
