1910 Straits Settlements King Edward 5cts AU condition. Mintage (13,012,111 pieces) Despite the high mintage, coins in AU to UNC conditions are rather hard to find.

My area of interest is of course Straits Settlements from the era of Queen Victoria, King Edward VII and King George V

That's a beautiful coin. I like your area of collecting. Hopefully you'll show us more of what you've collected.

Straits Settlements 1908 King Edward VII $1 Silver

Sadly this coin coin is slab "Surface Hairlines" AU. Had wish I had a number grading. Will post some better ones of the same.

Mintage - 4,151,652

Straits Settlements 1902 King Edward VII 10cts Silver - MS62 gradings.

Mintage - 6,118,000 is pentiful, however it's scarce and rare in these conditions. This is a beauty.

Straits Settlements 1910 King Edward VII 20cts. Graded AU58. Mintage 3,276,167

Got this coin from eBay and had it slab. Hope to get hold of a UNC coin in the near future. Though the 20cts 1910 coins are printed in high quatities, but to find BU / UNC coins is a challenge.

Anyone has any Straits Settlements coins to show? Hope some of you can share them.

Good luck with it. Without series specific knowledge I could easily see it going MS62 or even higher.

A new addtion, not slabed yet. Given the high areas not been worn off, I put it at UNC.

Lighting was rather flat while taking this shot. Did not show its brilliance.

Straits Settlements 1910 Kg Edward VII 5cts.

That's a great looking coin. I hope you're considering some of your coins for entry into PCI2013. Check the PCI2011 forum for threads about the contest.

A slab coin that got graded with AU Details only.

Straits Settlements Kg Edward VII 50cts 1908H.

Mintage: 2,869,177 (Total Mintage included with the year 1908)

Mint: Heaton & Sons (Mint), Birmingham, England,

Why with some surface hairlines scratches, NGC is not able to give a grade?

How much difference will it make if it were not slab? Would one pay equal?
