Maybe it's because that is not the actual coin yet. But I actually have several Finnish commems that either have no elevated rim at all (e.g. Paasikivi 1970, Lahti MM 1978, Kalevala 1985) or a very subtle rim only (e.g. Turku 1979, Kekkonen 1981). As for this one, well, next year we will know more ... :ninja:

Hm... am I the only one who see the no raised rim features? Or I guess it's a bit too early to say? :ninja:

 

 

Just to clarify what you see in the image: the flat outer ring on the plaster model that you see is not a part of the actual coin. It is only on the cast image. There will most likely be a raised rim on this coin.

 

Christian is correct though. Some of the Finnish commemoratives of the 1980s and early 90s have little to no raised rim. They are some of my favorites because of the this feature.
