elverno
1789 Ouverture des États Généraux, France. 33.5mm Hennin 4 This is the earliest listed piece in my collection from 1789. The calling of the Estates General was supposed to be the rubber stamping of new taxes by the "people". At least that was the expectation of Louis XVI and his advisers. This piece commemorates the opening of the Estates. Barely 10 weeks later the People stormed the Bastille and the Revolution was truly on. There is some minor tin pest but all-in-all in excellent shape for 222 years old!
YeOldeCollector
A brilliant piece, and all the more so for being made of tin!
