bill Posted February 22, 2011 Report Share Posted February 22, 2011 A recent purcahse: Some of you are familiar with the 1923 Monroe Doctrine centennial US half dollar, but how many actually realize they held a centennial exposition in Los Angeles? The pictured medal is actually the base of the official souvenir badge produced by Whitehead and Hoag. Not much was written about the exposition and it seems to have been a showcase for the movie industry.
