elverno Posted December 5, 2010 Report Share Posted December 5, 2010 1863 Dedication of the Hall of Liberation, Bavaria 41mm Bramsen 2089 This medal commemorates the dedication of the "Befreiungshalle" or Hall of Liberation at Kelheim in Bavaria. The occasion was the 50th anniversary of the "Völkerschlacht" or Battle of the Nations as the Battle of Leipzig was called. It was probably silvered or had a silver wash that darkened over time.
