Art
Nice article. I don't agree with the Committee on the nicest designs but that's not unusual.
thedeadpoint
Arkansas: 2010 Hot Springs National Park Quarter Designs I personally like no. 1, but the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee likes no. 4 and the Commission of Fine Arts like no. 2. In order, I like 1, 3, 2, 4.
thedeadpoint
Wyoming: 2010 Yellowstone National Park I like no. 1 while I'm not sure it's totally accurate. No. 2 ain't bad. No. 3.... blech. CCAC liked 1. CFA rejected all.
mmarotta
A long, long time ago when I had the stomach for such things, I read Albert Speer's autobiography and the book included a drawing he did of the Sportpalast after 1000 years. The others in the inner circle were shocked, but he said, you know, you guys are talking a thousand years, you ought to think about it.... Anyway, the point is that these coins all look nice as artist conceptions of proofs, but what will they look like as EFs? I mean, CuNi does not wear like silver but time does take its toll. I'm just sayin'...
thedeadpoint
California: Yosemite National Park Personally, I think they are all nice. I'm kinda leaning towards no. 1 because bears rock. CCAC and CFA liked 3 and 4 respectively
thedeadpoint
Arizona: 2010 Grand Canyon National Park Meh. No. 3 or no. 2 are tolerable. Not liking no. 1 and I think it would be a bad choice for a coin. CCAC barely liked 1 over 4. CFA liked 1. Figures.
thedeadpoint
Oregon: 2010 Mount Hood National Forest LOVE no. 1 CCAC and CFA liked no.
