I would want know if this coin can be genuine and if modern copies exist.

Unfortunately I have only this photo.

Thanks

Davide

5 kopeks silver Tauric Mint, originally very rare coin, but this one is modern fake, dies do not match with some known pieces :ninja:

Thank You.

Do you have a link where I can see an original exemplar?

Grand Duke Georgii Mikhailovich/Uzdenikov books have its image :ninja:

A false piece, from the same dies as your specimen, is illustrated in the

Russian Numismatic Society Journal, No. 78 (summer 2004), page 49.

There is no link.

I am not set up at present to post illustrations to this forum but perhaps

someone with ready access to this issue can do so.

If this does not occur, send me a private message and I can send a PDF

file of this page.

Since I was in a morning rush going to work I did not provide you with the nice image of a genuine piece.

Now you can have it as the rest of folks:

Auction house Alexander #5, Moscow, Russian Federation

December 16, 2006

Lot#71,

Weight 1.72 gr

MS-60

40 rubles by Ilyin, Bitkin R3,

estimate $20000-$25000
