Here's another that came in today, quite hard to find close to Unc. Madagascar P38.

Great notes both of you! It's a treat to see such high quality rarities. Thank you both for sharing them.

I've been enjoying picking up signature varieties recently, focusing on Comoros, French Pacific, and Central African States. Makes for some good hunting, as usually dealers aren't listing the varieties. Here's one of the less common varieties, Comoros P3 sig 2:

No need to argue, they are all great bank notes. Fantastic.

That's a nice Pasteur, Madison. I've always thought the "wrestling the rabid dog" on the back was a bit on the dramatic side for a banknote...

West African States #103, for Ivory Coast. Took me forever to find a nice copy of this note for some reason.

Nice looking note, Dave!

Isn't is amazing how a particular note can be so elusive? Once I get one I've been tracking down for a while, I seem to see them everywhere after that.

Congratulations on getting the note finally!

Depending on the condition, if you're looking for Unc notes, practically any higher value French note is very difficult to find. And yes, the Napoleons are tough. If you're willing to accept pinholes, or notes in XF condition, then they are much more available.

For me it's probably one of the most nice notes in the world, so that's why I want to get it. Uncirculated is extremly expensive, so I will need to find less good notes, like you said XF.

Those are really nice. And tell me, are the Belgium 20 and 50 francs of 1956 and Rwanda Francs of 1978 printed by France?

Thank you. I just thought because those have the bright and many colors like the French style notes.

These aren't paper money, but...

Do you collect the old French stamps. I like them because they're similiar in style like the paper money and are very colorful too.
