Name; Dominion of Canada.

 

Region; British America.

 

Constitutional status at time of issue; British Dominion.

 

Date of Independence; 1st of July 1867 (This is the date that the British North America Act,1867 came into force,which established Canada as the first federation

within the British Empire.This date is a public holiday in Canada,originally titled Dominion Day,but now known as Canada Day.).

 

Canada issued postal notes between the reigns of King Edward VII (1901-10),& King George VI (1936-52).Because Canada is a federation,& the provinces themselves are self-governing,the postal notes are listed by the province of issue.
