sandy3075
Here is an interesting Victoria's early East Africa, while still protectorate. Nice pice dated 1898.
sandy3075
I've got it a couple of years from a friend of mine who is a coin dealer, but put it away and have not though of scanning it until now. This is the scarcest cent of the British East Africa. Not sure of the reason as its nominal mintage was 6,000,000 pieces, but this was clearly indicated by the prices even at the time when Remick sent his 3'rd (and last) edition to print in 1971. Usually the mint mark is under the CENT.
Art
I really enjoy the designs on these coins. A type set of them would certainly be a neat collection.
