Bluesfil
The Italian coins came as a bit of a surprise - the 20 centesimo coins are like works of art - the engravers art is superb. I only have a a couple of thousand coins left to go through from those lots but it has been a fairly rich series of finds and rewarding in the sense of knowledge gained. Obviously I'll have to get to the verdigris on some of the coins but to tell the truth the scans showed more than what I originally spotted on the coins in the hand so I am a bit embarassed There are some Japanese 1 and 2 sen 1870's coins and a whole group of late 19th early 20th century Chinese coins that I am still identifying. My biggest learning curve at the moment is dating Japanese, Chinese and Middle Eastern coins and I am just starting to get the hang of it The largest group of Unc coins still to be done are the Unc Nederlansch-Indies coins - there are about 60 of them in various denominations, silver and copper that still have their full original lustre. mainly from 1921 to 1945. Enjoy and have a good weekend - Phil
Mickola Vorokhta
Sorry, but where you obtained such interesting bulk set of the coins? Could you advise me URLs where I can purchase some similar items

If you look again at your 20 centesimi 1918 you will see over the shield the ghost image of former 20 from an old 1894 coin. It is an overstrike! Bluesfil
Sorry, but where you obtained such interesting bulk set of the coins? Could you advise me URLs where I can purchase some similar items I buy bulk lots of World coins at public auctions in Australia - a lot are from deceased estates and others just cast offs from serious collectors. There is a lot of work involved in identifying everything - I am a rank novice on the middle eastern silver which I am still to put images up. Unfortunately the postage costs for 3,5,10 kilos of coins to go from Australia to Europe or USA is probably prohibitive

It is an overstrike! Thanks for that Banivechi - missed it completely. It's funny, here I am, one of the serious Australian error and variety collectors and I miss an obvious overstrike. Thanks once again
tabbs
Norway 1948 2 Ore That coin is from Sweden - see the king's GV monogram. The spelling of the unit also helps differentiating the Nordic coins: "øre" is used in Denmark and Norway, "öre" is used in Sweden. Not sure on this one - German States - 1867 2 Pfennigs -think its Munich That piece is from Prussia. The A is the Berlin mintmark, and that eagle is the Prussian one ... tabbs
Appears to be a token or possibly a Notgeld issue. Yes, I think so too. The inscription "Giltig bis 6 Monate nach Friedensschluss" means that the piece would, after making peace, remain valid for six more months. Probably a WW1 issue, and from the spelling of the first word ("giltig" instead of "gültig") it may be a Bavarian/Austrian piece ... (For some reason only the obverse shows up here.)
