Tiffibunny
12 Euros isn't that an unusual denomination? Do you have a picture of this Aidan?
Tiffibunny
Got that one from Spain too. Here is an image of that €12 coin (unc., in the original bag):http://www.honscha.de/bilder/sp12g.jpg ... and this is the €10 piece (proof) issued on the same occasion: http://www.honscha.de/bilder/10sp022g.JPG (Not my site/pics.) As for the "12", well, that is a little odd, but it is the equivalent of the former 2000 pesetas coins (12 EUR is 1996.63 ESP). And since such collector coins hardly ever show up in everyday life ... :-) Yesterday I got the Irish €10 coin dedicated to William Rowan Hamilton (see separate thread) and the Year of Science, by the way. Interesting design ... Christian

Mila_cent
Please excuse my limited knowledge. But what are commemoratives coins?
gxseries
Special coins that are minted strictly to collectors, or sometimes out to the public because of some special occasion, such as the anniversary of some events.
