Scottishmoney
You could do a whole theme collection from the socialists countries of pollutant belching factories on banknotes, I know Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia also had them. Curiously Russia preferred to just put different visages of the Kremlin on notes to remind people then who was boss. The reverse of the Czech 10kcs from 1960 has a factory in the background on the front and a dam on on the reverse it, no doubt not environmentally friendly. Dave M
That factory looks like an Escher drawing, Dave. Amazing that this scene would be one to put on a banknote. Dave2
boydle
There are a lot of countries that love the factory look for their notes. I quite like it as well especially when they notes are from the early 1900's. Here is a North Korean Factory.
boydle
Very nice notes. I didn't realize the notgeld were running anywhere near that high. Rarer notes are, Mainly in non paper. However I have a couple of paper notes that value about $300 they were nice pickups in a bulk lot of notes cost me 84 cents each
jtryka
I just got this one from the last Lyn Knight auction, my first McKinley! And my first PCGS graded note. I must admit I prefer the PMG holder to the PCGS, as this holder just seems flimsy while the PMG holder is more rigid. This note is graded VF 25, as a mule, and was from the Rickey Collection. Not sure what that means, so if anyone has any idea, let me know!
thedeadpoint
The reverse is well-centered, Jeff. I think the vertical folds just outside of "United States of America" and "Five Hundred Dollars" are actually complimentary considering its wear. As for PCGS vs PMG, I'll have to go look at my holders. I bought a nice note last week but I am not satisfied with the scan. I keep meaning to photograph it, but I'm lazy. Dave
Here's the US Silver sert's from 1935G when they changed over to the Motto 'In God We Trust' on the reverse.

Dave M
The backs of those notes are just beautiful Dave. Any way to see them at higher resolution? Dave

Dave M
Thanks! Those are really neat. Not just the beautiful engraved scene, but the idea that a banknote can have a reverse with virtually no other writing on it, almost as if they decided the back is really "extra space" and they might as well just use it for a nice picture. Dave Well if you like that, then you should check out the other ghana notes from 1965. They are similar in that regard, but with less attractive scenes. Most have a building, but this one: Link is rather pleasing to look at.
Dave
Mailman brought another 1000 Francs banknote from Central African States - Chad. Also got a nice Colombia 5000 Pesos.

Scottishmoney
I wished I had never seen all his African notes, he unintentionally fed my passion for collecting several of them myself.
Vfox
I'm still a huge fan of the Zambian notes, but those certainly do have nice eye appeal.
Capt-AWACS
I stopped by the BEP store in DC yesterday and bought some more 4 piece uncut sheets 1, 2, 5 old 2006 and new 2006 (Colour) and 10$ (colour) Not super exciting but I have special frames for them and enjoy them as art work also. Ciao, AWACS

Ciao, AWACS I was tempted to buy single notes of the Richmond FRB. Saw them on sale and thought that was a neat idea. So I can sympathize with your desire to purchase the sheets.
