see323
See! I miss your super repeaters! Nowadays, very little action on acquiring new notes unless I found a pretty rare one for my collection. I started cycling since Aug 2008 when I imported two Montague Swissbike LX ( foldable mountain bikes ) from a US ebay seller. Since then, I lost 6 kgs which I was unable to achieve for the past years. Seem like I can now wear some of my old clothings. A good healthy exercise. Scottishmoney
very hard to fine in quality Bulgarian banknote : 5000/1925 Nice note, large denomination, and printed by Bradbury Wilkinson. I really like some of those early Bulgarian notes, they have so many influences from all over. The 100 Leva zolota from 1917 is my favourite though. Scottishmoney
I like to think that after Bulgaria had this note printed, they decided no more lovely Bulgarians on notes. Because aside from the 1920 1 and 2 Leva notes no more Bulgarian lovelies appeared on notes again for a very long time. Oh yes, during the socialist era women, rather stocky and somewhat mannish appeared on Bulgarian notes, but no more lovelies. It was as though Bulgaria didn't want the secret to get out. It is one of my very favourite notes from Bulgaria, one I have never found a decent example of for my own collection unfortunately.

jtryka
Hmm, vaguely familiar. I think I have seen that one in the past. Yes, I have to thank Scottishmoney for allowing me to relieve him of that note, but rest assured it has a good home now!
Scottishmoney
There are several more like it I would like to be relieved of, including a rare Cincinnati Series 1934 $1000 that I will sell of sometime soon.
Snowdesk
This is what I got today from a thrift store here, will post pictures soon as I can if anyone is interested. 1967 one peso Bank of Mexico 1968 one dollar Bahamas Monetary Authority (2 of them) 1990 one dollar Bank of Jamaica 1992 two dollars Bank of Jamaica 1991 five dollars Bank of Jamaica (2 of them) So now someone please tell me what is the most I should have paid because I don't know anything about this currency, they looked nice and I bought them. I will blame all who have posted such nice pics of bank notes and forced me into addiction! I'm in awe that you found currency at a thrift story to buy. That's what makes collecting so fun, that you never know what you'll find and where. Enjoy your bank notes no matter what you did or should have paid for them. It's the thrill of the hunt that gets addicting don't you think, and making "mistakes" is all part of the learning process should you have paid too much. I look forward to seeing your scans of your thrifty store finds. We have some from the Bahamas---a 1/2, $1, $3, $5 and a $10 plus some coins---that we picked up on vacation back in the late 1960s. I've never placed much value on them monetary wise because I assume all tourist did/do the same thing, but they trigger some great memories of that trip no matter what they are valued at on the collector market. Snowdesk
OOPS! I just realized that I replied to a very old post in this thread (see above). I didn't realized that the thread was 58 pages long. I must have replied to one at the bottom of the first page. SORRY! .

jtryka
Great note but I have to ask, how crispy is it? Well, I put it at about a VF (Scottishmoney can feel free to disagree with me) so it's not super crispy, but pretty firm with obvious folds in the middle. The edges are very nice as well. Scottishmoney
Yes, I have an AU 1934 Cleveland. The Atlanta's are scarcer than the Chicagos or New Yorks, the Cleveland is downright rare.
