The PCI Guy
The Entry thread is open now. Entry rules; I) You can enter a maximum of one note per category (thus a maximum of 8 notes in the competition). [until further notice] II) When you enter please enter them as follows (this is to help me); Username - Date Denomination Country picture address on banknotebank without tags and mention which category it's to go in. E.g Sylvester's - 1990 £5 Note UK http... (to go in Colourful notes) I generally ask for as little description as possible because it cuts my job down significantly and if the picture address is after the description it will save me time when setting up. I like uniformity, so i strive to get the descriptions much the same, it looks neat. [if there is something special you'd like to mention about your note then the best place for that is in the replies to the posts during voting]. I'm afraid i have to be strict on this because long descriptions usually cause me some chaos sooner or later. The categories; 1) Pretty Women/Handsome Men 2) Architectural/Artistic/Sculpture 3) Animals 4) Colourful notes 5) Political/Religious Statements (Communist, Fascist, Royalty, Dictators, Political/Religious Slogans, Religious figures etc.) 6) Interesting Serial Numbers 7) Old and 'Classic' notes (Old being 19th century or earlier, Classic being well known and celebrated (or not) designs, silver/gold certificates, white fivers etc.) 8) Rare notes Only one major rule i am absolutely going to enforce with no exceptions. Photographs of notes attached [i.e as attachments] to posts in this entry thread will NOT qualify/be counted because it causes no end of problems. Only ones with proper links to banknotebank or another appropriate site will be acceptable.* *Appropriate sites are basically those that host the image as long as you wish. There are some sites out there that only host them for say a week, or two weeks at most. Well this competition runs alot longer than that and your note will disappear midway through. The PCI Guy
naidu54@hotmail.com i haven't added your third note yet because at the moment i'm only allowing one entry per category. However, if i need notes to fill the remained of the religious/political category then i'll add it in. Also to all entrants using banknotebank (this also goes for omnicoin) i think i'd ought to point this out now for further reference. The link should read; http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_view_enlarge.aspx?id= and NOT; http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_view.aspx?id= The reason being the bottom link is a link to the page the coin is on, not the actual address of the picture. If i put that address in IMG tags it will not work. E.G; http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_view.aspx?id=901951[/img (The forum won't let me post it, if i try putting the bracket on the end of that) I have altered them all to the correct variant, no problems there, but i might explain why some of you may or may not have encountered problems in the past when trying to use IMG tags. Art; your links are too long! I had this issue in PCIX with one of Dave's coins and it caused me a total nightmare because i have to have the entry thread opened on 'edit' to retrieve the links, which is confusing with all the bracketed script and whatnot that you see in edit mode. Is there any way you can get shorter links. Same goes for Dave now i've just looked at the posted Round I listings.
The PCI Guy
Art/Dave - If you can't get shorter links i might have a way around it, so it doesn't matter so much. I'll just click your link (which although shown incomplete [hence why i can't just copy/paste] if i click on it, it takes me to a page which shows your entry. All i have to do then is highlight the address in the address bar and copy/paste that instead. It's an extra two steps but it shouldn't cause too many problems. ALL NOTES ABOVE THIS LINE; ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have been uploaded onto the Round I Listings thread, all of your notes have a entry number, e.g A1, B3, H6 etc. Please go here and check that, the link is correct, the infor is correct. http://www.coinpeople.com/Round-I-Listings...lts-t11045.html If anything needs altering or updating then just quote me the entry number of your note. You can also see where vacancies in certain groups are and what i need to fill.

naidu54@hotmail.com
Hi, The PCI Guy, sorry for the trouble.... naidu54@hotmail.com--Madagascar 500 Francs 1994 (Pretty Women) http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_view_enlarge.aspx?id=901858 naidu54@hotmail.com--Cambodia 1000 Riel (Political/Religious Statements) http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_view_enlarge.aspx?id=901945 naidu54@hotmail.com--Cambodia 500 Riel 2004 (Political/Religious Statements) http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_view_enlarge.aspx?id=901944 naidu54@hotmail.com--Malaysia 50 Ringgit 1983 (Rare notes) http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_view_enlarge.aspx?id=901951
The PCI Guy
When I try link format that I get this error:Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed Am I just being stupid or is there something else besides? It's tough to explain, but say you're using omnicoin/banknotebank whatever. If you go to the coin/note overview. I.e this page; http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view.aspx?id=915730 If you were then to take the address out of the address bar and post it here as the 'picture' address it will not work. Because when i put it in IMG tags, the forum tries to treat it like a picture, but the address on that page is not the picture address, it is the page address. You can of course give links to pages like that, but by putting it in IMG tags the forum tries to put the whole page; pictures, description, text etc. into one picture on here and fails because you can't do that. Simply put it won't work. To make the picture display directly on this forum, you have to click on the pictures and then you'll get this page; http://www.omnicoin.com/coin_view_enlarge.aspx?id=915730 Then right click on the picture, scroll down to 'properties' and on the menu that comes up there is a URL address for the picture, this is the address i need. It should end in .jpg http://www.omnicoin.com/coins/915730.jpg (that is the picture address and the one i need). Which makes me now think i'm gonna have to change all those addresses yet again. Bugger really i should have noticed that. If it doesn't end in .jpg it'll not work. See we all get it wrong from time to time, even me.
