one 2€ San Marino 2005 ... in a weird funky package with a sort of pendulum ... i'll try to get a photo of this tomorrow.

this week i got my katrina auction winnings (the AUD10 polymer note) and a packet of $100 facial tissue (and just in time for flu season!) in other news, i got the shipment confirmation for my replacement UNC Marine commemorative ... yay!

i'm not worried about that. it was, effectively, defective, and i paid full price for a coin in uncirculated condition. they're still minting and shipping coins (people have received postcards telling them to expect their coin in november!) so i'm not too worried.

i got mine yesterday and sent it back today ... random marks all over the reverse.

nothing of use. i recycled or shredded everything that arrived today. however, i got an email saying that a box arrived at my package mailbox that i know is my new mobile phone ... so yay for new toys!

the mexican states bimetallic coins are hard to get. i wonder if these will be any easier.

a 1928 hawaiian half dollar. that, and i'm sure i wouldn't pass up a st gaudens double eagle ... especially since i have never had a gold coin.

wow. i have yet to be dinged for customs charges for anything (and that's with everything properly declared except for one item from the monnaie de paris ... which they declared as a gift for some reason!)

i don't have any albums or folders. i have this irrational fear of them. you see, they impose organization ... and then i'd be able to see which items i didn't have, and then i'd have to spend more money. plus, i'm kinda worried that putting coins in an album will cause them to tone in undesirable ways. (yes, all my stuff is stored in a mishmash of mint packaging, 2x2's, ..., and i have no solution in sight.)

i got mine last week, too ... i saved the video on my imac, which promptly croaked ... it's in the shop now.
